Solar-Powered Drone Hub + DJI Matrice350
guarding ecosystems in 4500m plateau wilderness

A breakthrough:drone inspection & monitoring the uninhabited plateau areas and harsh environments
Discover how EFLY Aviation deployed fully autonomous solar-powered drone hubs in 3-River-Source National Park in Nagqu, Tibet for ecological monitoring. Operating in high-altitude, signal-denied environments, the system integrates real-time sky-air-ground data to support biodiversity and environmental protection.

Description

In Aug.2025, EFLY, together with 3-River-Source National Park etc., successfully deployed seven solar-powered drone hubs compatible with DJI drone M350 and inspection systems, pioneering a new paradigm of high-altitude ecological monitoring. The system overcame challenges of extreme altitude, harsh climate, and communication barriers, enabling scientific and systematic monitoring

EFLY Drone Hub for Ecological Monitoring

integrated with satellite remote sensing and ground-based sensors, the project built a “sky–air–ground” drone inspection & monitoring network. For the first time, accurate population counts of flagship species such as Tibetan antelopes were achieved, along with the capture of extensive high-value wildlife imagery. This provided unprecedented data support for ecological protection and fundamentally transformed traditional, labor-intensive on-foot observation methods.

Project Achievements & Key Data

1. 100% green solar power, fully independent of grid electricity
2.15km hub with multi-mode comms dis. “information silos” across complex terrain.
3. <10% wildlife recognition error rate, a fourfold improvement over traditional methods
4. 7 solar-powered drone hubs active,7 more expanding the network
5. eliminate “signal vacuum”,ensure stable, real-time data transfer,With multi-mode comms.
6. 150kg lightest drone hub for wide-area inspections; mounted on truck, it'll be mobile hub.

FAQ

A: Each hub is equipped with high-efficiency solar panels and large-capacity batteries, power—enough for drone takeoff, charging, and full system operation.
A: EFLY uses a “sky–air–ground” multi-mode communication solution, integrating satellite, radio, and relay technologies to ensure real-time data transmission even in signal-dead zones.
A: Our AI models are specially trained for plateau environments, greatly improving recognition accuracy of flagship species such as Tibetan antelopes and snow leopards. Misidentification rates are reduced by over 75%, enabling accurate population analysis and movement tracking.
A: Yes. In addition to fixed solar-powered hubs, EFLY offers truck-mounted mobile hubs, which can be rapidly deployed to form mobile inspection stations for urgent or temporary monitoring tasks.
